Butterflies have been the inspiration of many poets.
Here is one of our favorites:
Happiness is a Butterfly...

Is always beyond your grasp,
But which, If you will sit down quietly,
Might alight upon you.

There are many types of poems. Jake’s Song is an example of a quick couplet. Quick couplets are a pair of successive verses that rhyme with each other.
Here are some other types of poetry you might try:
Haiku
A Haiku poem is about nature. It consists of three lines. The structure is as
follows: |
Line 1: 5 syllables
Line 2: 7 syllables
Line 3: 5 syllables |
Diamante
A diamante has five lines and is diamond-shaped. Its structure is as follows: |
Line 1: Noun
Line 2: Two adjective s that describe the noun in line 1
Line 3: Three words that end in “ing” that describe the noun in line 1
Line 4: Two adjectives that describe the noun in line 1
Line 5: A noun that renames the noun in line 1: can also repeat the noun
