What McDonald Elementary School said about Author Crystal Ball
O’Connor’s visit:
“As I listened to Dr.
Crystal Ball O’Connor
read the story of Katherine’s
Quilt, Made for Dreaming, it took me back to watching my
mom and grandmom putting together their quilt. I
remember cutting the squares and stacking them them as I
listened to their conversation.
I watched as my
students were caught up in her story and knew that they were
also taken back to a special time in their lives. The
visuals she brought helped the children to write vivid
descriptive sentences inferring about Katherine's character.
